Breadcrumb Home / Head and Other Administrative Positions / Supervisor of Information Technology Services Office Supervisor of Information Technology Services Office Job Responsibilities Under the leadership of the IT Manager in the Information Technology Services Office, the Computer Room Supervisor is responsible for the management and operational maintenance of the computer rooms and campus network of City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), ensuring the normal operation of the school's server systems and network. Applicants should possess solid theoretical knowledge in computer science and proficient practical skills, especially in the management of large and medium-sized campus networks, server virtualization, Windows Server operating systems, Linux operating systems, and operations of network security devices. 1.Responsible for the management and supervision of the daily operations of the computer room, ensuring the stability and reliability of all IT infrastructure and services. 2.Manage local server virtualization resources, monitor system performance, to ensure system stability and reliability. 3.Plan and configure the campus wired and wireless network, campus network functional areas, VLANs, user roles, security groups, access control, and access rules. 4.Install and configure infrastructure operation and maintenance monitoring systems, promptly control network performance and service quality, diagnose and solve network failures, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of the network. 5.Write and maintain campus network technical documentation, including network topology diagrams, configuration files, operational manuals, processes, and policies. 6.Quickly respond and effectively resolve urgent technical issues and faults, minimizing impact on teaching and research. 7.Manage the procurement, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the computer room and network-related hardware and software. 8.Plan and implement the upgrade and expansion plans for the computer room and network, to support the continuous growth of the school's technology and operation needs. 9.Formulate and execute computer room and network security strategies and measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, network security vulnerabilities, device access authentication and authorization, bastion hosts, log auditing, etc., to ensure the security and privacy of data. 10.Timely complete other tasks arranged by the department leader. Qualifications 1.Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields. 2.At least 8 years of working experience in university infrastructure management, network management, or related fields. 3.Familiar with virtualization and hyper-converged server architecture. 4.Proficient in configuring and optimizing common web servers such as IIS, Nginx, Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, etc., with experience in load balancing, reverse proxy, and high availability configurations. 5.Familiar with Active Directory clusters and the Linux operating system. 6.Knowledgeable about network security technologies and standards, as well as the configuration and management of common devices, such as switches, routers, and next-generation firewalls from brands like Huawei and H3C. 7.Solid theoretical knowledge of computer networking, including the OSI model, TCP/IP v4/v6, SD-WAN, dynamic routing protocols, etc.; familiar with common network protocols like HTTPS, SSH, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, IPSec, Dot1x, etc. 8.Strong capability in network troubleshooting, able to analyze and pinpoint access fault points. 9.Capable of working independently and under pressure, with a strong sense of responsibility, awareness of network security risks, and a proactive work attitude, with an ability to timely discern information security risks. 10.Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. This position requires an English interview and a written test.
