City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) (CityUHK (DG)) is among the designated universities benefitting from this initiative, aimed at campuses in the Greater Bay Area established by Hong Kong higher education institutions. This forward-thinking programme offers internship opportunities specifically for undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) disciplines. Its goal is to immerse these students in Hong Kong's thriving innovation and technology ecosystem, providing firsthand experience in related fields and sparking early interest in pursuing careers in innovation post-graduation. Eligibility for this internship scheme extends to all full-time STEM students at CityUHK (DG), with the university and prospective employers offering necessary support for visa applications. Internships are full-time positions spanning a minimum of 28 consecutive days. Qualified interns will receive a stipend, set by participating institutions, at a rate of HK$11,190 per month. CityUHK (DG) has lined up opportunities with the Hong Kong Productivity Council and the Nano and Advanced Materials Institute. Beyond just internships, CityUHK (DG) graduates can also look forward to broader career prospects. They are eligible to apply for the IANG (Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates) visa to work in Hong Kong post-graduation, opening up further avenues for employment in the vibrant city.
