Senior Manager of Library
Job Responsibilities
  1. According to the academic, teaching and research needs of the University, plan and estimate the annual budget based on the development of library collection and construction progress, formulate the principles and standards of the annual procurement plan, and implementations.
  2. In accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Education, closely communicate with the user departments to determine the number of hard copies and electronic copies of books and periodicals.
  3. Responsible for the specific implementation of collection resources procurement plan, participate in bidding and complete the resource procurement contract agreements.
  4. Contact domestic imported and exported book suppliers, and implement the procurement and acceptance of Chinese and foreign languages books, periodicals, materials, CDS, and other literature resources.
  5. Liaise with the library of the City University of Hong Kong, government units, and publications, and plan customs clearance and review procedures for overseas book donations according to relevant international regulations.
  6. Plan and coordinate the procurement and construction of the library database, management system, and related information retrieval platform, as well as subsequent operation and maintenance.
  7. Deploy websites and mobile applications to provide smart library services.
  8. Cooperate with the Campus Development and Facilities Management Office to jointly plan the construction and equipment allocation of the library.
  9. Other library-related duties.
Qualifications
  1. 10 years or more of work experience.
  2. Knowledge of current global trends in academic librarianship, information technologies, and scholarly communication.
  3. Library start-up, renovation, or new build experience preferred; familiarity with library information system and a proven ability to oversee its implementation, familiarity with library website development and maintenance.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
